Barcamp (23+ 21) is coming up on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 from 2 PM till 7 PM, unless the world is suddenly invaded by extra-large sword-wielding tardigrades.
For the first time, we’re going to host the event physically as well as live stream it on Zoom, allowing speakers and attendees to join us from outside of Kuwait, and for us to have the great networking between attendees that we used to have before. Some sessions may not be streamed nor recorded, at the request of the speaker.
Four thumbs up for Coded for offering to host us and sponsoring our stay! Find them on Twitter and Instagram. They host many events throughout the year, such as startup founder speaking and the like. We highly recommend following them!
For those coming in person, the location is Coded Academy, at Argan Business Park, in the Free Trade Zone area.

For the online stream, the event is powered by VMware! VMware is a software company that was founded in 1998. Today, it’s a pioneer in Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions, Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions and holistic security around both SDDC & UEM.

Timing
The event will be from 2 PM till 7 PM (UTC+3 timezone). We will provide breaks throughout the event.
Registration is for both attendees & speakers.
Webinar links will be emailed to those who register.
(the initial batch may not have the Zoom link, but it’ll be included in a follow up email)
Early Speaker Topics
Early topic submissions, but as usual, the rest will be disclosed during the event:
- Typescript in Depth by Mohammed Alhaddar
- Explainable AI by Abdulrahman AlQallaf
- Weird Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) Bypasses by Fawaz Al-Mutairi
- Fraud Detection Using Supervised Machine Learning
- Web Cache Deception by Majid AlQabandi
- Blockchain Criminal Investigation Methodologies
- and more topics to be confirmed soon! (the list is not the order they’ll be presented)
Topic Focus
Technology & IT in general: Security, Networking, SEO techniques, Programming, Web Design, Hardware, …etc.
Presentations must be about existing and implemented ideas, not concepts, as existing projects give insight to hows & whats of the project rather than fantasizing about it.
Security Auditing (Hacking) and Proof of Concepts are welcome, but affected parties should be notified and invited to the event.
If this is a new exploit, net etiquette dictates that one should notify the affected party (company owning code) about the exploit 3 months prior to releasing the code to the public. The affected party must know about what the auditor is about to present, and the auditor must not share the PoC code with anyone apart from the affected party.
You are not allowed to sell a product or advertise it for the sake of selling it. You may NOT present an idea then ask the geeks in the audience to help you implement it!
Presentations will be screened & checked by the organizers before the speaker presents to make sure everyone is in compliance with our rules. Sorry, but some have violated these previously, so this has to be done.
Presentation Timing
Presentations should be 10 minutes long then 5 minutes for questions and answers, so 15 minutes in total. As this event is hybrid in-person and online, questions can be sent during the session, and the speaker will get to answer them during the Q&A.
Timing Schedule
This is indicative and will likely change during the event, especially if we got more spontaneous speakers. However, the venue where we’ll hold the event physically may also limit the max time we’ll stay there.
